It's birthday week for the Bradley's. Natalie and Luke had their birthday's earlier this week and my dad's birthday is tomorrow. This weekend we celebrated and had a party for Luke. He, his friends and family members from across the Western United States (California, Washington and Arizona) all headed to Safari Run in San Mateo for an afternoon of fun in their play structure and an amazing cake. We then headed to BJ's for an after party, pizza and a Pizooki.
Just a quick post to show pictures of the newly reopened Roseville Galleria (as you may recall I helped break the news on Sunday). Only 41 stores open today, although about 70 have permits that basically say they can open when they are ready. A few more, including Banana Republic will be opening tomorrow. In speaking with a sales associate at GAP, they confirmed my suspicions that the person that started the fire (okay "suspected" arsonist) did not come out wearing GAP clothing as he originally claimed. It was most likely Anchor Blue or a similar store. The mall did have a smell a little bit like smoke and cleaning products, but overall was clean and comfortable. The wall that has been constructed to block off one section includes quotes that were written on the Galleria's Facebook page.
I've been running a lot lately. 167 miles in September and 133.5 so far in October, it gives me a chance to get outside and away from a computer screen for an hour ... and most importantly it allows me to see sunrises and the beauty that is the Napa Valley (it may also allow me to eat some really good food and have a few glasses of wine every so often). Beyond the running over the last month or so I got a new TV (it's huge), went to Bouchon Bakery for the first time, headed back to Roseville for the first time since I moved (tacos at Chandos were a must), went to CANVAS events at Ehlers Estate and the Napa Valley Museum, headed to check out the Napa Wine Yacht and saw the sunset at Kieu Hoang in Carneros. My parents came to Napa for a winemaker dinner with Robert Mondavi Winery, then we headed to Healdsburg for a tasting at VML (great Pinot Noirs) where one of our family friends works. As we headed back to Napa we did a quick drive by Trefethen Vineyards (we'll have to tas…
It's been another couple weeks full of wine, food ... and something new ... I actually left Napa a few times. We had a fabulous weekend of events for Mother's Day with Veuve Clicquot including a brunch (complete with cookies). I tried out a new restaurant at the River Terrace Inn, Alba, that was really good, hopefully I'll be back with friends in the future, maybe for Taco Tuesday, I was there on Meatloaf Monday. There was also a little bit of wine tasting with a friend that makes his own wine with friends. There was also a meeting at JAM Cellars (think Butter Chardonnay), a drive up to Calistoga to see the Napa Valley's version of Old Faithful, a 1 mile run in record time, and fish tacos.
